If you think you’ve seen it all in the land of cute, then think again.
THIS, friends, is the pumi dog. He is whimsical, he is precious, and he is probably going to be your next house pet: the American Kennel Club officially recognized the pumi as a breed this week.
The breed is originally from Hungary, where they’ve long served as herding dogs. Pumis are intelligent and quick learners, according to the Hungarian Pumi Club of America website. They’re great for families who can provide lots of activity to match their high energy levels, and grow to be medium-sized dogs with a typical lifespan of 13 to 15 years.
Of course, it’s important to remember that equally worthy mixed-breed dogs need homes, too. Whatever you choose, prepare for your life to majorly change when you get a dog… in the best way, of course.
